I Think I'm In Love

My Mom is great. I still call her to ask how to cook my turkey every Thanksgiving (you’d think I’d figure that out after 15 years). I still call her to ask how to hem my pants. And I still pop over when I need some adult conversation. She’s always got some sage advice for me and hasn’t let me down yet.

But today, I think she just may have changed my life.

My new gravel garden paths got ignored for a few weeks and when I was talking to her on the phone, lamenting the weeds that were higher than my vegetables she said, “Well, do you have a hula hoe?”

A hula what?

And she hopped in her car and brought me this….

That, my friends, is a magical garden tool made by little magical elves.

It effortlessly chopped down the weeds in my garden paths and my beds in a matter of minutes with NO SWEAT! I just ran it back and forth over the weedy spots (kind of like a vacuum cleaner but with a little more pressure) and my paths are beautiful again. Took 30 minutes, when it could have taken all afternoon.

And I think I may sleep with it tonight.

Sorry Honey, but if you pulled my weeds I’d cuddle with you too.

So, is Chris madly pulling weeds right now??? I have never heard of a hula hoe- now I am curious to try one!

You must be stronger than I! A little pressure??? It must be all that bread kneading you do. I gave up on that thing and passed it off to my son and husband. They love it though. :)
(I'm such a wimp!)

I may have to go get one of those tomorrow. I went out to the garden today and was overwhelmed. I could only imagine the jungle I will have by the end of July.lol

I so need one of those! Do they have one that goes on automatic pilot? I would pay double for that!

I have one of those and I too love it! A friend of ours who helped me start a garden this year told me it was a must have and he couldn't have been more right!
Smiles!
