We've only been married almost five years, but I was thinking of people who have been married longer and how they should get to have another shower. Stuff does wear out, and they come up with such great things...like newer versions of the Cuisinart :)Heather of the EOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14607422301391841377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-559345894667319825.post-89227367338129952642009-04-20T06:57:00.000-07:002009-04-20T06:57:00.000-07:00This is so funny, we were just talking about this ...This is so funny, we were just talking about this yesterday at my cousin's bridal shower. My mom and Aunts were all joking that they should get to have another shower. My husband and I have been married 26 years today, so you know that our stuff is way beyond being any good any more. I've replaced or done without just about everything we got as gifts when we got married. Now, it's all about the wedding and baby showers for our daughters.DarcyLeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14721821786563546087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-559345894667319825.post-17551773907924207102009-04-15T21:47:00.000-07:002009-04-15T21:47:00.000-07:00Okay...Ask Chris. I did get new stuff the second time around, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend divorce in order to replace appliances:) I think your idea is better.Halfmoon Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12050121358001735700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-559345894667319825.post-42506649932604823292009-04-15T07:43:00.000-07:002009-04-15T07:43:00.000-07:00I'm with you girls. Blender dissappeared about 7 years ago and hasn't been replaced. But you know what I don't think I could live without? My stand alone mixer!!! Anyway, I'm all for those anniversary showers every 10-15 years!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-559345894667319825.post-48055267418925390682009-04-14T20:31:00.000-07:002009-04-14T20:31:00.000-07:00Gayle, awhile back I had a good friend who had bee...Gayle, awhile back I had a good friend who had been married for 15 years. I thought that was such a wonderful accomplishment that it should be celebrated. So I threw her a surprise "anniversary shower" and asked guests to bring typical wedding gifts. It was a HUGE hit and she absolutely loved it. Sadly, we've lost touch over the years, but it was a fun thing to do. Now, I'm getting ready to celebrate my TWENTIETH anniversary (yikes!). Anyone want to throw an anniversary shower for me??? Yeah, I didn't think so... :)Janellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01045666703675046860noreply@blogger.com
