I'm Obviously Not Raising Any CIA Operatives, Here

I often joke that I had this many kids so that I would have a workforce in my house. Why, I wouldn’t have to lift a finger If I trained them right, now would I?

So in an effort to have a little stay-at-home-mom, bon-bon-eatin’ time, one of the chores that I’ve delegated to my kids is the folding of the laundry.

Cuz we have a TON of laundry.

But for some strange reason they hate to match socks.

So last time I went downstairs to carry up my semi-neatly folded pile of clothes, I had NO socks in my pile!

NONE!

When I dug a little deeper, hiding behind a bucket was this mountain of unmatched socks that the little rascals had been tossing in a corner.

Like I wouldn’t notice at some point?

Hello?!?

When I ask my kids to match socks, they try to slide totally mismatched combinations by me. Hello! I am slightly observant enough to see that you have put a blue striped baby sock together with a girls paisley one! grrrr.

They were pretty enthusiastic in hiding their socks, weren't they? Hahaha!

My kids do the same thing... they leave all the socks at the bottom of the laundry basket and cover them over with a blanket or something. Nice.

I feel their pain. I hate matching socks also.

Take comfort from the fact that I'm with you on this one! My kids HATE IT when whites get washed and come out of the dryer, because they know it means.....

Folding endless socks!

I feel your pain.

When my husband was growing up, his mother had a 'sock bag'. She kept a bag of unsorted socks by the door and everyone had to rummage through it to find matching socks before they left the house!

(All because there were too many socks to differentiate)

Worth a laugh, right?

Oh, I don't blame them. I hate matching socks too. I finally got it down though. I put each sock in a pile depending on who it belongs to and then I match them up. If there isn't a match I put it in the drawer anyways. The mate will catch up.

Yeah, I hate to match socks myself. I wonder what that is--strange phenomenon--sock matching phobia or something!
