Sunday evening a friend gave me two big boxes of apples so I gladly and gratefully accepted them. But the drawback to tons of fresh fruit is that you have to do something with them right away because they go bad fast.
So what did I do on Monday?
Went swimming of course at Emily’s wonderful pool!
But this morning those boxes of apples sitting in my very warm house, were starting to give off the sweet odor of fruit on the verge of rotting. So today, regardless of the fact that it is a sweltering 95 degrees ( I know I’m whining but to all you southerners that is NASTY hot in Washington state) I’ve been canning applesauce and making pies…..and doing laundry and breaking up sweaty cranky kid arguments and all kinds of hot weather delights.
Just another day in paradise.

lol...it is sweltering here too. Thank God for AC! I do not envy your hot weather activity AT ALL.
It has been hot here too. I have been making apple pies as well- my favorite! I borrowed this super duper apple corer/peeler from my sis in law that makes it much speedier!
