This should be interesting, you would never have been able to do it. The most frequent comment from your teachers was she is a great student but she talks to much!!! MOM
ROFLOL!!! I used to give people the silent treatment when I got mad at them, in my mind I was punishing them, but somehow I always felt like the one who was being punished. But I was stubborn, and no matter how ridiculous I realized I was being, I could never give in. Sigh. Not nearly as noble as your dear daughter. I envision a written modification tomorrow, "due to circumstances beyond my control which were not enumerated by the party of the second part (my mom) prior to the transcription of this pledge, I hereby declare the party of the first part (myself) to be free from all previously enumerated consequences and suspend any previously stated vows until such a date when the party of the third part (my friend) would no longer be adversely affected." I'm such a nerd.
A mid 30's woman trying to balance marriage, faith, homeschooling 4 kids, mountains of dirty laundry and a serious chocolate addiction. Ok, well maybe it's more like upper 30's but it's still the 30's, dangit!

I remember doing things like that- it seemed so important, noble and world changing- for the first 1/2 hour anyways...
She and her friend may have a fun time with trying not to speak. Just watch and see how it plays out.
That is gonna be an interesting playdate. :)
Revel in the quiet... I give her maybe until noon... After all she is your daughter...LOL
That's too funny! She'll probably really regret that vow when her friend comes over :-)

Uh, yeah. Thanks for that Mom. See what kind of trouble you get into when you give your Mom your blog address?
;)
Wow. I applaud her for her reason for not speaking.
You ought to supply her and her friend with paper and pencils to write each other instead of speaking to each other....
But I don't think she'll make it very long, just because she might forget.
I would keel over if my girls did something like that!
WOW great thoughtful reason & girl, I'd definitely take advantage of that!!!!
I love your blog.
This post hit right at home... I am curious to see if she can really do it.
I want to homeschool my children.
Keep blogging great things. I love to read it!
Loved your mom's comments. What a great experiment! can't wait to hear how it turned out!

i wish my son would try that.
You will have to let us know how long she lasts!
Hilarious!! And lasting 11 hours - nine while sleeping - is even better! Nevertheless, applause for her creativity and willingness to learn!
