Drat, Foiled Again!

My four year old has an annoying habit of needing me to constantly be within his line of vision. If ever he realizes that I have left the room, he likes to walk through our large house hollering a drawn-out, “Maawww-ummmm? ------ Maawww-ummmm?” until he finds me.

I really really don’t like it.

In fact, sometimes I just hear the word “Mom” and decide that I need to go to the bathroom; the only door with a lock on it where the little beasties can’t get to me.

So today, I finally had it. The first “Maawww-ummm?” started and I hadn’t even left the room. In fact, all he had to do was look up from his breakfast plate and he would have found me standing two feet behind him at the kitchen sink.

In frustration I answered, “Today, nobody say that word! I don’t want to hear the word ‘Mom’ all day today! Got it?”

Gabe’s answer?

“Gayyyyy-uhhhhhl?------Gayyyyy-uhhhhhl?"

I think I’ve been outsmarted.

Yeah, Kellie has a tendency to follow me around, especially when I'm in the kitchen and it even LOOKS like I'm going to cook something yummy!

*sigh*

Sometimes I want to run and hide, too!

But that's really hard in a house that's under 1300 sq ft with 6 kids.....

"Nowhere to run to baby, nowhere to hide, ooh ooh!"

I can totally relate! You can never tell a new mother that she will get tired of that word, but three children later, I have been known to declate that I HATE that word and that she is in Australia. I may have even suggested that they go there and find her! :)
