Constipation

Well today was the last day of our homeschool co-op and of course I arrived frazzled and late. But God works all things together for His good and as proof of that, I was just late ENOUGH to miss the most embarrassing display of parental injustice ever seen. I crossed the doorway (and conveniently ducked right back out) to see all the parents being forced to stand on stage and do an impromptu display of hand movements and dance moves to a song playing on a nearby tape player. And I do believe that it works together for His good that I didn’t have to stand up there and embarrass myself. (Sorry dear Julie that you had to endure this!) And I also think it points out the fact that lateness can sometimes be a good thing.

When we left co-op this afternoon, the kids wanted to celebrate so we headed over to Jack in the Box for the kind of lunch that makes this frugal mom almost wet her pants with joy. The five of us had taco’s (2 for 99cents) and ice waters for a grand total of $2.89. Doesn’t that make you just want to clap your hands and kiss yourself?

But the icing on the cake was when my 7 year old, Malachi wanted to share his “most-favoritest” class with me by singing me the theme song. He took an amazing class called the 7 C’s of History put out by Answers in Genesis and would always come home excited about it. If you follow the link you’ll know exactly what the REAL 7 C’s are, but this is how his song went.

Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe,
Confusion, Christ, and the Cross
CONSTIPATION (should be consummation) is the last C
The 7 C’s of His-Tor- EEEEE!

(Sung with much gusto and volume!)

And for that song alone, I would count our first co-op experience a success!

That is so funny! I love hearing kids sing their own unique versions of songs. This is a classic example why!

Is your co-op over for the year? For the fall?

I would LOVE to read the Barbarian Way! I am going to try and get my hands on that book - it does sound like something I would love to read.

Lemme know how you like it.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Woo! You missed the embarassing dance! You fed everyone for under $3. I think you should receive some kind of award! As a matter of fact, that hubby of yours should buy you some chocolate!

So, I'm a little LATE on the comment here....Too bad I wasn't late to the co-op on Friday!!!! Just to let you all know, Gayle had quite a look watching "The Dance" that we were enduring (from an inconspicuous doorway). It was a cross between "I'm so sorry" and "Neener, neener, neener"!!!! I think the latter was her true feeling!! ;)

I agree, constipation works in the song!
