I awoke this morning to the news that a dear, dear friend of our family was dying and this morning at 10:00 she drew her last breath.
The news has shaken our whole family to the core.
She meant so much to us. We spent time everyday with her. She made us laugh and cry and taught us some valuable lessons. She demanded very little from us and gave so much. She will be missed terribly.
I remember several occasions when I’d had a rough day and she let me just curl up near her and listen to what she had to say. And she could always make me snort with laughter no matter how sad or angry or frustrated I’d been just moments before.
My husband enjoyed her dramatic stories and loved to be moved to tears. My children loved her energy and tall tales. I loved the fact that I could approach her in my pajamas and unwashed hair, with no make-up on and feel right at home.
But life goes on for us.
And as sorely as she will be missed, I can’t wait to find a replacement for her; one with a larger personality and maybe a little thinner.

So goodbye dear friend. I hope your replacement arrives soon because I’m in the middle of watching “24”

Hubby has his eyes on the really thin ones. :)
HAHAAAAAAAA! Clever girl.
It's not very nice to comment on the weight of a dear friend who has so recently passed. =)
You're TV died while you're in the middle of watching 24!?!!?
I'm so sorry, Gayle. I feel your pain. I think all of us Jack Bauer groupies...er...I mean 24 fans are mourning with you. Hoping your replacement arrives soon.:-) hehe
ah you had me going there for a minute. i was feeling so sorry for you. at least you let her live out her life with you instead of trading her in for a better model when she started getting old(like my husband did).
