Obviously Hygiene & Homeschooling Don't Go Hand In Hand

I feel really fortunate to be able to stay home with my kids and teach them. I love the whole concept of homeschooling and the closeness it brings when we all get to hang out together on a consistent basis. Plus I really like the relaxed environment that a homeschooling lifestyle affords.

But sometimes, when I'm hyper focused on all that we need to get done, it seems that the shower fairy forgets to visit my house.

The kids all remember to shower and bathe but this mommy can be halfway through 2 loads of laundry, a hot breakfast, double digit multiplication, writing prompts, bread rising and phonics before she looks down and sees that she still has her pajamas on.

And at that point why bother?

I'm the same way and I'm not even officially homeschooling yet! My hubby will come home from work at 2 in the afternoon and I realize that I haven't brushed my hair, or changed from my jammies. What a lovely vision I must be! lol

Oh man, running in here between dishes, baking bread, HSing, packing for a trip, etc.

I'm in my sleep pants. Whoops. (but I do have on an "undergarment!" So I don't consider myself to be in my PJs. :-)

You just get busy in the morning! Things need to be done. :-)

It is a good feeling to know you're not alone out there! As I sit here in my pjs (granted, its still before 9) and read your old posts, I feel quite sure that I have found a kindred spirit, or at least one with the same fondness for poo-jokes and self-deprecating humor. Keep up the good work, pjs and all!

I hear you! It had been too long since my last one, so I made myself get into the bath this morning!

I am so jealous. I am up at 5 a.m. and ready to leave at 6 a.m. to get home around 6 p.m. and start the whole thing all over again!

I have totally been in that exact same situation - bread rising, reading lesson happening, lunch already over, just realizing I am still in my pajamas. Unfortunately, it seems that is always the moment when the doorbell rings!!

Ha! Had to laugh at this post as I sit here reading having just gotten home from the gym...I'm dripping sweat on the keyboard! Think I'll go take a shower now.

As I sit here in my bathrobe, typing in questions on "The Littles" for my daughter to answer as she reads the book, well, I can totally relate. Pass the coffee and slippers please!
