In the back of my head is this whining voice telling me, "Girl, you need to blog!" But I really have nothing. I haven't had the time to sit still long enough to contemplate the humor in my day. I'm sure it's there...somewhere.
hello? are you there?
So instead I will tell you the things that I do remember.
- Chris got sick on Thanksgiving morning so I slogged my four kids around to all our Thanksgiving parties By. My. Self. He's SO gonna pay.
- I've been sucked into some real quality reading lately: The Broke Diaries, Marley & Me and The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. It ain't Shakespeare but it's absorbing.
- We aren't doing a tree this year so the kids dug out all the lights and ornaments and decorated their rooms. They were thrilled! (no tree-freak comments please)
- I'm getting ready to slog my kids to church ALL. BY. MYSELF. AGAIN. I swear that man just figured this was the only way to get a vacation. I bet the minute we leave he turns on the music, dances around the house in his underwear and searches for my chocolate stash. I'm SO going to get sick next week.

Not a tree freak, well, ok, I have six trees up this year, but more curious as to why no tree... to each his own but I am always curious about other people's ideas. Who knows, it might influence my ideas!
So jealous you don't have a tree! I LOATHE the Christmas tree. Yes, loathe.
If only my family would play along...
Sorry the husband is ill and you have to be a single parent. Can't be much fun. He totally owes you.

What a great idea!! ;-)I would love to decorate my bedroom. ;_)
hmm, sounds like you might becoming like me? read my comment on emily's last post. i'll save you some room on the plywood!!!
That was only cute when David Cook did it. btw, today while my hubz & son were watching football, I saw a version of that commercial with a *woman* in her skivvies. I don't watch tv much, so I don't even know who she is. But, sorry to sound sexist, that ad just does not work with a female.
We aren't having a tree either. We aren't going to be home, so what's the point?
you should know by now that you getting sick won't be the same. It's a sad thing, really.
Yeah carrie, you're right. Doesn't that just stink?
You're a tree freak.
haven't done the tree thing in nearly 10 years (due to it's controversial ties to paganism;-) and honestly it's no biggie. I always try to remind people it's just a day, with or without all that stuff, like weddings, birthday parties, it's not how much you do or decorate but the friends and family you are spending time with that counts.-This comment is coming from a decorating queen!
Oh hey those naked Tommie boy legs, they look so much HOTTER than Emily's naked guy legs on her blog!
Though I must admit I really think men are hotter with their clothes ON than off...I think it's a girl thing or maybe a me thing?
I have learned a nice way to get ME time is to find free time when there is NO time, like say when you have a meeting with say a client it's best to meet at a place that is cozy, like, say, Panera...but just to be sure you get there on time you plan to arrive say 30-40 minutes early (you never know traffic could be bad)and because you are pretty sure you will get there before the person you are suppose to meet you have a book and chocolate in your purse and you find a comfy chair and read until they arrive. Nothing like getting there early, aye?

We do the artificial tree each year because I got tired of the cost and mess of a real one. Also, each of my three kids has their very own mini artificial tree in their room that they decorate with lights and mini ornaments with a mini star on top. They use it as a nightlight. We got the trees and ornaments on clearance at the end of the Christmas season for the next year. They usually get one new mini ornament for their tree each year.
I feel you on the tree thing. There have been a few years that we haven't done one. The most memorable was when I was a little girl and we couldn't even afford the cheap ones on Christmas Eve, but my mom decorated as much as she could anyway, and my mom's best friend's husband (who wasn't even a believer) bought all of us girls matching baby dolls. It's one of the sweetest Christmases that I remember.
