How To Carry A Purse Like A Real Man- WFMW

It seems that as mom's we have our hands full. Not just figuratively but literally. My family and I took a walk on the beach on Sunday and even though I requested that all kids carry their own shoes, by the end of the afternoon I had five pairs of shoes hanging off the fingers of my left hand. When the kids were in the baby stage I had no less than one car seat, a diaper bag, a special blanket and three toys in my arms every time we left the house. Now that they are older my arms are full of coats left behind on church pews, stacks of papers regarding the details of their full social lives, as wells as my own things. And I often find myself saying, "Honey, could you carry my purse for me?"

And I'm usually greeted by a look of horror on his face as his testosterone levels plummet at the mere thought.

Come to find out, the whole "husband carrying the purse" thing is a topic of conversation among men in various locker rooms, Starbucks and men's groups because recently my husband informed me that he was advised on a solution for this masculine problem.

The Football Hold as demonstrated by my very own husband.

This is no joke. For some reason this really makes him feel better about the dreaded task. He wraps it into the shape of a football and shoves it under his arm like he's getting ready to plow towards the end zone.

So pass it on girls and maybe you can avoid the look of horror from YOUR man.

How cute! My husband would NEVER pose for a photo for my blog!

At least your purse is black. Mine is pink and white. I don't know that any kind of hold would make that look less feminine.

How funny!!! What a manly man, in spite of the purse! I haven't carried a purse in nearly 4 years b/c its been replaced by a diaper bag! Thankfully, Scott has no problem slinging it on his shoulder.

LOL!! That is too funny. My husband always complains if I ask him to hold my purse, I'll have to share this with him.

Great shots...totally made me smile! Amanda just peeked over my shoulder and asked what he was holding, so it wasn't obvious it's a purse, successful football hold!

Your hubby is adorable. I just laughed when I saw this photo.
Now, I'm going to have to show this to the two guys in my life. Maybe they'll adopt the football hold next time I ask them to hold my purse.

So if we introduce our husbands to the "football hold" does that mean they'll be willing to nurse the baby on occasion too?

Yeah Gayle but did Chris spike it when you got into the store? Now that is the real manly thing to do. Or hand you back the purse and carry all the other stuff... After all aren't all of us men pack mules?

Happy Birthday Chris... How was dinner?

Oh my goodness! I made my husband get up from the couch and come over to the computer to see this for himself! I have an entire post on my blog about how my wonderful husband will do absolutely anything for me but he will. not. hold. my. purse. No way! Thank your husband for opening up a whole new world of possibilities for for men everywhere!

We don't have American Football in England, perhaps we ought to introduce "The Rugby Hold", then again, I'm not married but I'll pass this on ;)
