My five year old wanted a snack....
"Mom, I'm an angel. (eyes blinking innocently) Can I have whipped cream in a bowl with a spoon?"
"Well.......ok." He certainly gets points for creativity and charm.
Elijah my teen says, "How come he gets some?"
My smart alecky response, "Because he looked really cute when he said he was an angel."
"Yeah, my name's in the Bible and I'm an angel." Gabriel says in his five year old neener-neener tone.
"Well mines in the Bible too," Elijah says. "And I called down fire from heaven and delivered important messages. All you did was tell Mary she was gonna have a baby."
I don't know whether to clarify that they didn't actually do those things themselves, (surely they know this, right?) to break up their arguing , or to applaud their Bible knowledge.
Instead...
"How 'bout everyone gets whipped cream?"
Parenting crisis resolved.

Oh my...that's too funny!
Whipped cream in a bowl. With nothing else between the whipped cream and the bowl. I am so NOT letting my children read this post. (Not that they would anyway, but I am just really going to make sure they don't.)
I'd definitely give Elijah points for thinking on his feet. Excellent comeback. :-)
too cute. Does an only child have such great negotiation skills? They certainly come to play in larger families. Good solution Mom!
Whipped cream in a bowl with a spoon? Now that is certainly creative snacking :)
Gayle, thanks for the email about the great deals. I just bought 10 laptops for an unbelievable price.
Ian ;)
Ooooo, that was good!
