And that makes the girly times even more important for us. In fact, the older she gets, the more fun we have together. We went shopping the other day, just the two of us, and had a total giggle-fest in the dressing room. We tried on and spun around and commented on what we liked and didn’t like and it was just like hangin’ with my girlfriends.
Oh God, please keep it that way for us!
So today we had another foray into the girly world and the tables were turned. The boys had to step in and enter the land of tea parties and pedicures.
I practiced my French pedicure skills on Allegra’s toes and the boys had to assist by handing me the polish, files, clippers and such. She loved the fact that they had to be a part of HER kind of play.
And then we had a tea party! The boys helped decorate the table and, of course, eat the food. Allegra insisted that they have good manners.
And it didn't hurt the boys one bit, although I'm sure they thought it would at first.

How cute! That was a great idea to include the boys. I am sure they loved it too. It's all about being part of a family. I may have to do that when we move.

that looks like so much fun. My daughter and I need a girl's day soon.
Right there with ya. Girly time is so important when you live in a house full of testosterone. I LOVE the idea of making the boys come into your girl-world for a little bit. For some reason we've never done that...but I think we might in the near future. :-)
I force tea-parties on my boys regularly...lol! It teaches them some desperately needed manners and sweet little julianna gets a chance for them to be a part of HER world for a change.
Hey, I have the same China! It sounds like you had a blast.. and the boys, they got husband training! We do tea parties pretty often and the boys are the servants.
Your last post had me laughing. I've so been there. I've more than tripled my high school size... I've gone form a 3 to a 10... think about it... tripled... GAG. I'm skipping my reunion. ~Karlie
What a great idea for it to be ALL of the kids!
Allegra is beautiful, and clearly your French manicure skills are excellent!!
Love the french manicure...I have one now too. Your daughter has the same space between her toes as I do! Great for wearing flip-flops. My moms use to tease me that I was missing a toe!
I pray your wonderful girly times continue.
Ugh, I hate it on here because, even though I have an account on here, with a password and user name and all, it ALWAYS NEVER lets me use it!!!!!! So I always have to make comments on my friends' blogs as an anonymous idiot........but it's really me!
Allegra is so pretty, she looks just like you, to me. I see her in you and I always thought you were radiant. Around here, Russell is the odd man out, and he NEEDS time with Dave, I really notice more now that he is getting older. I always tease the poor guy that he's a 16 year old trapped in a 12 year old's body.....
Tea parties!!! Wow, I feel like a lightning bolt just hit me, as pathetic as that sounds, like, WHY, with 5 girls, did I not hit on that idea before now?? Except we would only have one servant.....
You sure are a popular chick on here and HSB! It's deserved, you are so funny but at the same time sharp and deep too....
Okay, talk to you later!! Love Leanne
Dang...those nails are awesome!
