I'm A Girl, I Just Don't Get It

Why does the sound of hysterical boy laughter usually involve one of my kids running naked through the house?

In our house the boy laughter is usually accompanied by one of his sisters crying.
Don't worry- they make him pay.

I hear you- it is a guaranteed laugh at our house too.

That kind of laughter in my house (of all girls) usually involves streak.ing as well (nothing is funnier than the toddler straight out of the tub putting on a running strea.k show) or putting things under their shirts or the rear of their pants to give them boo.bs or boo-tay! just wierd. :)

When my daughter was three, I met a new friend who had four boys. The six children stair-stepped in age down to my daughter being the youngest one. One day she was loading up her boys to come to my house for a visit and the boys asked who Maudie was and did they know her? She said you know who she is, she's got a little girl and a little boy. Her oldest son said, 'OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH is she the one whose little girl runs around outside naked all the time???????????' Yep, that was me.

The words naked and glee go hand in hand in my house too. They even have a dance they call "the naked dance". It's not just boys.. I'll be upstairs putting away laundry and when I come down my previously fully clad daughter will be sitting on the couch naked watching Sesame Street. Which I don't normally mind except when we have pee-cident or when the doorbell rings and they run to get it and not run to get their clothes on.

It doesn't change when they get older. We went camping this summer and I heard hysterical man laughter from next door. I looked around our camper to see what he was laughing at and it was our three year old son, pants down to his knees, peeing for all to see. I blushed and ran to cover him up and our neighbor kept laughing so hard I thought he'd break a rib.
